Interview mit Custo Dalmau von Custo Barcelona
Vor der Custo Barcelona Show auf der Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Berlin hatte ich die Möglichkeit Backstage mit dem Designer Custo Dalmau zu sprechen. Er war sehr freundlich und auch die ganze Atmosphäre Backstage war überraschend relaxed und noch nicht so hektisch wie erwartet.
Almost three decades passed since you designed the first Custo Barcelona t-shirt. What is the secret of your brand’s success?
First of all, a lot of work and of course I have many professional people, who work with me.
What distinguishes the summer 2010 collection from last summers collection?
We are known for our mixes of materials and colors and of course print is always very important. This is all also important in this summer collection, but of course there are significant changes in color, materials and graphics.
Could you describe how a woman wearing Custo Barcelona is like?
A woman wearing Custo Barcelona is a woman who likes to express her individuality and who has a young spirit.
Do you prefer summer collections or winter collections?
I don’t really have a preference, but in a winter collection you have more possibilities considering accessoires.
What do you think of Berlin, when you compare the city to Barcelona?
The mood of the city for me is very similar. I feel very comfortable in Berlin. I also feel at home in Berlin.
Could you describe your summer 2010 collection in one sentence?
In one word: groupie. The spirit of the collection is the way that people dress when they attend a summer festival.
